COPACSO successfully convened over 400 youth at the Karamoja Cultural Event (9–13 Sept 2025) to launch the Youth Communiqué on Climate Justice and Land Rights. COPACSO convened a strategic Batwa Land Rights Dialogue (25 July 2025) in Kisoro to document displacement testimonies.
As a committed partner in the Keep Your Land, Keep Your Seed campaign, COPACSO participated in a national learning visit to the Adamasiko Community Seed Bank in Soroti City. The visit convened by LEMU and supported by OXFAM brought together campaign partners to share experiences on indigenous seed conservation, secure land access, and sustainable farming systems. COPACSO highlighted its pastoralist-focused contributions to the campaign, particularly in conserving pasture seeds and protecting traditional livestock breeds essential to resilient dryland livelihoods.
With ILC support, COPACSO is training communities in Kotido and Amudat on semi-circular bunds to restore degraded rangelands and enhance sustainable land management.

At the 2025 Global Land Forum in Bogotá, COPACSO spotlighted the struggles of Uganda’s Indigenous communities, highlighting land dispossession, forced evictions, and cultural suppression. Coordinator Brians Agaba called for legal reforms, restitution of ancestral lands, and recognition of Indigenous land systems to ensure justice and dignity for marginalized groups.
COPACSO, in collaboration with JICAHWA, conducted basic beekeeping training for 34 members of a Communal Land Association in Kotido District. The initiative aims to strengthen sustainable land use, enhance income diversification, and promote climate resilience among pastoralist communities.
COPACSO, in partnership with FAO, is conducting data collection in five pastoralist districts using the Tool for Agroecology Performance Evaluation (TAPE). The exercise captures community-level insights on biodiversity, gender, and sustainable livestock systems to inform inclusive, evidence-based policy.
