
CALL FOR KNOWLEDGE HOLDERS
PURPOSE
COPACSO invites pastoralist community members with deep indigenous agroecological knowledge to be documented by youth and women trainees through participatory media during the training. This initiative aims to preserve and share valuable local knowledge.
WHO CAN APPLY / BE NOMINATED
- Recognized knowledge holders in areas such as:
- Sustainable livestock management and rotational grazing
- Rangeland restoration and organic pasture management
- Agroecological crop cultivation
- Herbal medicine and traditional remedies
- Climate adaptation strategies
- Trusted by the community as custodians of indigenous knowledge
- Willing to share expertise with trainees during field documentation sessions
HOW KNOWLEDGE WILL BE DOCUMENTED
- Knowledge holders do not need to attend classroom sessions
- They will be interviewed, observed, or recorded by trainees in the field
- Their knowledge will be used to create videos, photos, and other media for preservation and dissemination
HOW TO NOMINATE OR APPLY
Nominate knowledge holders via your local COPACSO member organizations, who will document the knowledge holder’s information and expertise.
REQUIRED INFORMATION
- Full name, gender, age, community/village
- Area(s) of agroecological knowledge
- Short description of practices or expertise
- Endorsement from local member organization or community leader
- Consent for knowledge to be documented by trainees
VERIFICATION AND SELECTION
- Member organizations verify nominations based on community recognition and expertise
- COPACSO Project Officer provides guidance and oversight via phone/email
- Project Coordinator approves the final list of knowledge holders
